There shouldn't be an issue with the durability of the bare frame, but every time you touch it you'll get a bit of the oxide on your hands or clothes. It comes off as a fine grey dust, then the newly uncovered bare aluminum (which had been covered by the oxide) will quickly form another thin layer of oxide, ready for the next time you touch it.
