Compatibility: Vintage 10 Speed and Shimano 105 Brifters

Anybody know if a vintage 10 speed (5 cog cassette and double crank) will be compatible with a Shimano 105 Brifters, alone? I think I may also need a 105 rear/front derailers, but I just want clarification. I was thinking that a 105 9 speed brifter/rear, front derail install would work.

No. All brake/shifters need a matching RD and cassette. The cog spacing is nothing alike.

5sp is most likely a freewheel, so to use a brifter with this setup you will have to get a new rear wheel that will work with the cassette.

It might wind up costing more than a new bike. Most likely the frame is not worth the upgrade.
