Source For Quick Release Bolts?

I just installed a Bontrager seatpost beam rack on my Dahon Jetstream P8.

https://www.bontrager.com/model/06971

The only thing I don't like about it is the bolt that tightens it onto the seatpost is a hex bolt. I would like to replace it with a quick release bolt to make it practical for folding.

I have already tried Googling for a source for quick release bolts, but haven't had any success. Does anyone know of a source for this?

Thanks,
Brian

Why do you call it a bolt? Search for a seat quick release.

if the seat post binder bolt threads into a part welded to the frame it might be diffucult to use a QR on it. if there it a nut that is threads into maybe you can fing one. mountain bikes used to have them in the ealrly '90s but since alot of people never used them they kind of went out of favor. plus it make the seat easier to steal.

is this what you had in mind? https://www.loosescrews.com/index.cgi...id=36715778399

I called it a bolt because I consider any threaded cylinder of metal that screws into a threaded orifice either a bolt or a screw. Seat post QR will not work because it is a thicker bolt that the seat post QR bolt. I will try and provide photos. I haven't been down to Home Depot yet.

Below are some photos of the Bontrager seat post beam rack I added to my Dahon Jetstream P8.
You can see that the clamp it uses around the seat post is held in place by one allen head bolt. This means that any time I want to fold the bike, I either have to remove the seatpost (with rack attached - not practical at all), or use a 5mm allen wrench to loosen rack so that seat post can be lowered. What I want to do is find a replacement bolt that is either quick release of thumb screw. The threads on the bolt are larger diameter than a typical seat QR bolt. I did not have any luck at the three LBS we have in Savannah. I am about to take it to Home Depot/Lowes and see what I can find.

On another note, I do like the looks of the rack and it appears to be pretty sturdy when attached. The beefy 34mm seatpost should be able to handle it. It is rated for 25 pounds.

Wish me luck on my hunt. If anyone finds any online sources for QR bolts let me know. I will post the bolt and thread size once I know what they are.

The bolt is a M6-1.0 that is 35mm long. It looks like some seat post QR are M6-1.0 and I should be able to make one work after cutting down the length. Now I just have to find one.
