Diamondback Sorrento (circa '95) Bottom Bracket
So I noticed last night that my latest acquisition has about 2-3mm of play in the bottom bracket. It doesn't make any funny sounds, just walks back and forth, like by hand. So I need to replace it. It's got Shimano Acera with a triple crankset. Does anyone know what size bottom bracket I need? I'd rather order one and replace it once it gets in rather than take everything apart, measure, order, wait a week, and re-assemble.

If you have that much play, it's likely a cup and cone bottom bracket. If that is the case, some fresh grease and new ball bearings will have you back on the road quite quickly. Cup and cone bottom brackets are adjustable and it sounds like your lockring came loose.
