Carbon Wheel fix?

I have a friend of mine who took a chunk out one of the spokes on his carbon wheels. I have some experience with fiberglass so he asked if I could fix it. I havent even seen the wheel yet but I was wondering if anyone has done this and could give me some pointers. From what Ive read you can repair carbon fiber with epoxy or vinylester resin. Can I use regular glass and epoxy or could I use an epoxy repair kit??? Any help is greatly appreciated.
