headset question

I just pressed in headset cups on an Orbit X-CX headset and I realized that the writing is upside down. Are these cups identical? Does it matter that I might have put the bottom on the top? Its a 1 1/8 inch conventional type headset. What do you think? I really dont want to admit that I made a huge error.

If they're the same dimensions I wouldn't worry about it particularly, but it's so easy to knock them back out on the other hand....

Dunno bout that exact model... but my campy chorus headset had different size bearings top and bottom.

The x-cx cups are identical. What does change is the fact that the "bottom" cup has the bearing and the *seal* preinstalled. You'll need to switch the seal to the "bottom" cup. The top cup does not utilize such a seal over the bearing.

Thanks for the replies. I will switch the bearings and seal and attempt to complete the installation. I just wish that FSA was more clear on how the headset pieces fit together. The drawings that they have are too simple to tell exactly what they are referring to. It would be nice if there were actual photographs.

Well, one thing you can usually count on is for any logos to be read easily...the marketing guys are good about that.

Anyone asks about the upside down logos, just tell them you meant to do that.

I will plan on that.

In the interim, I need to get this thing put together. I thought I would post some photos so that someone more knowledgeable might be able to show me what arrangement these pieces should go to and in what orientation. 010.jpg013.jpg
