Hub noise
I just bought a new Trek 1.5. Today, I took it for it's first real ride. It is making a woot-woot-woot noise with every revolution of the front wheel at speeds over roughly 10 mph. I have been able to isolate the noise as coming from the rubber flange on the side of the hub. Does anyone know what this is?

If dry rubber is rubbing on metal that's the kind of sound it makes. It's just seal drag, and will go away when a bit of the hubs lube weeps out. You don't have to wait, If uou have any silicone grease, gently lift the seal back and put a dab under it.

Good Grief! I never thought of that! And here I had the same reaction as I do when my dog gleefully barks his head off whenever one of his species walks past the front window: What means do I need to make that infernal noise stop ?!?
