Rear hub. Specialzed stout.
I bought a 2010 specialized Rockhopper comp disc in November and the bearrings in my rear hub went out, so I took it to the LBS that I bought it from and they replaced both front and rear wheels and hubs fir free. They said that they upgraded me fir free into the specialzed stout hubs. Are these an upgrade from the factory hub? The new rims are Alex seamless double wall. Thanks for Amy help. Just want to make sure the bike shop isn't taking advantage of me because I don't know anything about bikes.

Stout hubs and seamless rims sounds like an upgrade from no name hubs and pinned rims to me.
The wheels you got are probably a couple years old, but were specced on the expensive Demo series.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Bearings were shot so they spent the labour to rebuild both wheels onto new hubs? Colour me skeptical.

Sometimes wonder if the Stout hub design should have been the way to go instead of the 15QR; trouble is, damned Specialized is so snotty about patents and such.
I have a Stout hub front wheel that I'd love to use, but it's not a disc hub; so my nephew will be getting a big upgrade on his new bike this month!
