My handlebar stem is frozen in the steering tube, and i can't complete an overhaul until i can get the stem out. I understand that this is a very difficult problem. any suggestions. Thanks

Do a search for "stuck stems" and/or "stuck seatposts". This topic comes up all the time. Also go to Sheldon Brown's web sit as he has a article discussing this in detail.
