It is quite probable that pro mechanics use homebrew chain oil (dispensed from sponsor's containers) on their team bikes. Especially since the bikes are cleaned daily. The very best oil, in terms of a super silent drivetrain I've ever experienced was Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil (5W 20 or 10W 30) mixed 4 parts to Odorless Mineral Spirits. Just bliss in terms of effectiveness. The big problem? It was a dirt/crud magnet. I would think that this won't be an issue with drivetrains that are degreased and oiled daily. And since I can't degraese my chains daily, I settle for something less dirt-magnetic.
