Chainring Question
New to cycling... just bought a Caad9 and have a few questions.
I noticed that with my front chainring, the teeth are not all shaped the same. Some are fat with flat teeth, and every so often there are some that are narrow and the teeth are more pointed. Is this normal? What is the reason for this? |
It's normal, it's to allow for easier gear changes. Other types of chainrings have little pins and ramps built into the sides to aid shifting.

It's not so important for this question, but telling us you have a CAAD9 tells us nothing about what's on it. |
actually, if he at least specified which caad 9 he had, a 4,5,6, etc, we could learn quite a bit.
