Front tiagra shifter won't shift anymore
The needle indicator is all the way to the left. The smaller of the levers won't release the cable, regardless of how many times I have tried to trip it.
Is this a common issue? Is it repairable?

DOA. Do a search and read the various threads on flushing out shifters. I have flushed some with success, but not always. But officially, these shifters are not repairable.... Shimano really goofed on their STI design IMHO, as most of the competing brands are rebuildable.

Bloody hell. And this was a new (to me) set of shifters that I got with a Surly frame. I got to ride the bike a whole week before it gave up the ghost.
I guess this is as good a time as any to try bar end shifters.
