Painting Carbon Bikes
Without going into a ton of detail, I have a Carbon bike (Trek Madone) that I would like to paint. I cannot send it somewhere to be painted. I am going to lightly sand it for prep work. My questions are what should I use for primer, Paint, and clear coat. Should I look for a lacquer, urethane others???

The bike MUST be repainted and cannot be sent to trek or somewhere else. If i screw it up it wont be a huge loss for me. and i have another carbon bike (crashed and cracked) that i will use for practice

my buddy just painted some plastic parts on his motorcycle and used some type of hardener which made it like a shell. I don't see why you couldn't paint your carbon bike.

Your first post on BF.
I just picked up a red biotour 1000 in the trash the condition is great, It looks like the same exact bike as your 2000 it has the same derailleur, cranks and other components. The only difference I can see is the hubs what ever that means? I have been able to find nothing except what you already have. I was just wondering if it was worth cleaning and tuning up?
PS I am also from SE Michigan so there must be some one around that knows something.
