head tube marks

I have seen a few bikes with what seems lik a ring on the heade tubbe about an inch from the bottom. It seems to me that a bearing may have came loose and caused a mrk from rubbing back and forth in the tube ........any info / repair

You're not just referring to the head-tube design of bikes such Pinarello?
http://www.pinarello.com/eng/angliru_01_scheda.php#

Click on the the head-tube close-up.

If so, it's just the way some of the new bikes are made

531Aussie: I can't find the "head-tube close-up" in the URL you sent. Why didn't you click on this "close-up" and send the resulting URL or are you selling bikes? Thank you!

It doesn't have a direct link to the close-up to which I'm referring.

I'm talkin' 'bout the shot of the headtube, bars & stem, etc, right next to the words "ANGLIRU GALLERY"
