HELP! cycle unknown!

Anyone know the manufacturer of this bike? It's no where on the frame I know the serial isn't going to help. I need parts for it but have no idea who built it. It has manitou forks and cane creek head set, brakes, grips. Has some nice parts "old" but nice! Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless you need a specific rear shock, and the maker's name and model number should be on the current one, parts are parts. They aren't specific to any special frame, particularly one that's as standard looking as that.

What do you need to replace?

The swing arm is mounted at the base of the frame. There are two aluminum pivots that press into the frame from each side one is shattered. I could build my own if need be but would rather replace with the right part. It was a gift so I can't complain. It's not much to look at but he said it's a value of $1200.00 but he also said cane creek built it too lol. Would also like to know who designed a built it for my own knowledge. I will check the shock now and see what I find thanks for that info.

it sort of looks like an old Offroad. they used alot of polymer suspension stuff. I believer they made the first flex stems with polymers in them.

OOOPS I wrote this around 3:30 but got a cell call and never posted

I don't think Girvin/Offroad/Proflex made any frames that looked like that.
They did make flexstems (that I used in the early '90's) and bikes with elastomer bits.

Edit before posting: This is identified as a ProFlex bike. I stand corrected.

2009 thread mentions a Scottish shop as a source for ProFlex suspension parts.
https://www.morcmtb.org/forums/archiv...p/t-32961.html

2010: That shop is closed! https://www.rapiddescentscotland.co.uk/

Possible current source? https://www.suspensionforkparts.net/e...d&productId=98

Good luck!

"sniff" "sniff" not much luck on finding parts

At least now I know what kind of bike frame I have. Parts are very limited but I can always machine one for my self. Thanks for all the help and if you come across parts let me know there seems to be a company that provides the replacements for the rear shock material. Which by what I have read is very UV unfriendly and causes the substance to harden. I will post the link when I find it again.

Thanks again for the help! "BIKEFORUMS.NET RULES!!!"

That rear-end pivot location is in accordance with the "sweet spot" notions of a prominent suspension designer that Bicycling magazine profiled some years ago. Interesting dude....Can't recall his name.
The idea was to locate the pivot point in a location that prevented pedal-induced suspension travel.
