Help!

Im very new to this whole road cycling game! Ive just bough a Giant 'Defy2' to get me going.

I was just wondering if there was anything in particular I needed to keep an eye on in terms of maintenance? Its not a cheap bike, so would like try and keep it in tip top condition!
Thanks

Hello Mikechello, welcome to the forums. is this a new bike or just a new to me bike? if a new to me bike get the shop to show you what to look for.

one thing that is good to do, get inthe habit of wiping it down once a week and look everything over. then when something is wrong you will notice it. that way when you wipe down the rims and spoke you can feel loose spokes and look for wear and cuts on the tires. see if the wheel wobble would indicate a loose hub

PS this site (not mine) is chock full of good information from a lifetime of being around bikes.

As above +

Lube the chain when you go out, check the tires for damage and they are inflated to the correct pressure, check you brakes are working / replace pads as necessary.

If you bought it from a bike shop, you should have a free service after a set preiod, ask them at this point about anything you are unsure with on the bike.
