Noise coming from bottom bracket area
Hi. I just ordered a single speed Dawes Revolver from eBay. The bike works great and I'm happy with it, but there is a slight "popping" sound when I pedal, and I can also feel a minor vibration in my feet when I pedal. This doesn't seem to effect the performance of the bike at all, its just a little annoying. Can anyone give me some insight about what this might be? Here is a link to the type of bike I picked up:

Is the frequency of the sound related crank revolutions? In other words, once per revolution of the pedals? Do you feel the vibration in one foot, or both feet? Have you checked crank bolts or bottom bracket cups for proper torque?

Thanks for the reply. Its pretty much every revolution in each pedal. I found a thread which another person appears to have had the same problem:

If it is the bottom bracket, are these very expensive to fix or just re-grease?

Bottom brackets aren't that expensive. Start off by making sure the above-mentioned items are properly torqued. Sometimes, if something is really loose, you can feel play when you try to wiggle the crank arms laterally with your hands.
