Crankset Help 1x9

I'm building up a 1x9 mountain bike to cruise around the neighborhood. I'm using all new Deore components but I don't want to pay $90 for the Deore 3 ring crankset when all I need is the one ring up front. Can anyone tell me where I can find a comparable crankset with only one ring or no rings and I'll get the ring separately? It must be brand new.

Here's what I don't want to have to buy:

There are 110 BCD BMX 3 piece cranks to 170mm arm length, square taper BB type.

check with your local bike shop .. the Origin 8 is 1 importer's brand,
"bulletbproof", a prior one of another importer.

higher geared , a track crankset, sell the thicker 1/8" chainring to a Fixie rider,
get a thinner one for derailleur chains..

Look on ebay. I wouldn't buy new for that. Definitely wouldn't go to a bmx crank. Those things are boat anchors!

ebay. cranks don't usually go bad, but chainrings do. thus, prices on cranks with bum chainrings should be reasonable. or buy the new one and find someone looking for new chainrings.
