Help with campagnolo identification

Hi bike experts

I'm looking to buy this bike on craigslist for $200

the seller says that it's a

"55cm Bianchi Trofeo. Older frame (mid 90s I think). Campy components. Older carbon fork"

from that I found that it could be the 1995 model
https://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeS...ofeo&Type=bike

on a follow-up email, the seller said that the shifters are about a year old, and everything is campagnolo.

Based on the only picture he has, looks like the shifters are older campagnolo chorus. Are there other campy parts that looks like it? and is that bike worth $200? (picture below)

Thanks!

If those shifters are a year old, they're NOS. They're 8spd, unless they've been upgraded.

Anyway, $200 for that seems like a steal.

new, old stock. id say $200 is a good price, but offer him $150 and see how hungry he is.

This is the first time buying stuff online.... How would I negotiate without sounding like a jerk?

well, you could send him an email saying "Ill give you $150 right now for your bike" or " My wife says I can only spend $150 on a bike will you take that? what is probably alittle more common and smarter than buying something in the dark is to email him and arrange an appointment to meet and look at the bike and test ride it. Put $150 bucks in one pocket and $50 in the other. whip out the wad and say how about 150? if he protests then break into the other 50. look over everything and if something isnt perfect use it to justify your lowball offer. it needs new tires, i have to replace the grip tape and cables, The wheels need to be trued..yada yada.

Your not really buying this online unless you are having them ship it to you. If you are new to bike then you need to read up on bike fit and see the bike in person to make sure it fits properly. it is only a good buy if it fits properly.
