Mixing bottom bracket cups

The drive side cup on my FSA Gossamer bottom bracket is clicking. As fate would have it, I the non-drive side cup on an older FSA Gossamer bottom bracket (OE on my Kona Jake) failed on one of my other bikes. I replaced the BB that failed last year, but being a pack rat I didn't throw it away. The cups on the older BB are silver whereas the newer cups are bronze, but otherwise I expect they're quite similar.

Is there any reason not to just replace the newly failing drive side cup with the older, but smoothly turning, drive side cup while keeping the non-drive side as it is?

OK, so I guess I'll try it.

If they are the same specs and are for the same crank, I don't see why not.

Wada ya got to lose? I'm sure it will work, but as long as you're ok with a bit of a fashion faux pas,...
