Reversing the Stem

Hello! My arms are just a little too short to reach the handle bars comfortably on my Electra Townie. I like the bars very much and do not wish to change them. I have them adjusted towards me as far as they can go and the seat is forward on the rails as far as it can go. Is reversing the stem ok or dangerous?
Thank you.

You should be OK. The only worry would be that the handlebars will get too close for comfort.

FWIW: many recumbent bikes (like mine) feature "reversed" stems. I've never heard of one being a problem.

It can play all sorts of odd conflicts with handling. You also run the risk of hitting your knees when you turn.

Neither will kill you, and it's quick enough to change it around, so I suggest trying.
