Converting triple into compact

I have 1999 specialized allez, with shimano 105 triple. I am wondering if i could convert it to compact without replacing entire groupset, is it possible?

This Again,? you missed all the other posts?

Need whole crankset+BB.. you could fake it with any 110 bcd double crank

and the right BB for that particular crank as a double ..

If you just replace the BB and crank, you may not like the front shifting very much- a new front derailleur would be in order, too.

Don't bother you'll have to spend a bunch of money to reduce your gear range to get questionable shifting speed
