Going from disc to v-brakes on the rear
first of all, the reason I'm doing this is: I have a really nice rack and it won't fit, the disc brakes on in the way. I could get an old man mountain rack, but they are very expensive. It was a lot cheaper to convert the rear to v-brakes.
Problem is, I go to mount the v-brakes, pull the rubber plugs out of the holes then I realize my problem. There are no studs to mount the v-brake. just a threaded hole. I looked online at the usual place I order parts and can't find a "stud" that would thread into the hole. Anyone know where I can get these? |
We sell them at work, ask at your LBS. They are pretty cheap to buy. Alternatively, steal them out of an another bike.

Yes the let us condone theft now... do way to set morals for the kids! :)

I meant he could steal them off a bike he allready ownes. If he allready has a bike with Vs on, he could swap the posts off that, and put the disc on. Just an idea.
