What was the list price range for the bike, and are there any decals on the fork to say what it is?

Unless they have gotten better with time, the zoom forks are merely a sliding tube inside a nylon(or similar bushing set). The bushings can bind if exposed to certain lubes that penetrate the plastic, which is a problem if they are true nylone especially. There should be a set of bolts at the bottom of the legs which retain the lowers to the uppers. If you choose to procede a super long allen wrench will likely be needed. That will go down inside the leg while the nut on the outside(usually bottom of the leg) is turned. This will allow the legs to slide out. What has possibly happened is the lower bushing or something in that area is either binding or has dislodged in the way. In any event, taking it apart would reveal whatever is the matter.

In all honesty, unless you are a tool collector, I would take it to the shop for this one. I was just in one of my local shops on saturday and they had a whole bin of old but competitive forks for a mere 20-40 each. That would be my first choice personally, to have a real controlled damping fork for the price of 2 hrs repair labor on the other one but I do also understant the lack of budget(college life sucks for that).

theyve fixed themselves this morning they were fine! weird eh maybe a crap bikle but it has self fixing suspension forks! and techically it may be not a good bike, but it is the best looking bike in my area, people are oftehn commenting on what a smart "machine" it is, it gets me about, (ive lost nearly 2 stone since having it) and it looks the biz and its not like im ever gonna use it for real off road cycling so its an ok bike i recon. It says Gordo on the forks so i think thast what type they are

Losing something like 25 lb in just over a month of riding is something fantastic. You must be riding all day and dieting. I have been riding for over 30 years and keep gaining weight. How do you do it? Keep on enjoying it.
