What kind of crank puller do I need? (pics)

I'm trying to take the crank off my old Dawes road bike. I bought a universal crank puller but it didn't fit so i'm a bit confused?

The old [plastic] dust cap has broken off, gumming up the threads. A small screwdriver or something like a finish nail set and some patience and that'll come right out.

Then you shouldn't have any trouble with the puller you picked up.
