Cycle computer set up...???

Does anyone still have the instruction sheet for a VDO SprintPlus? I just pulled my bike out of an extended prison (in storage) sentence, and I've forgotten how to program my 'puter. I'm usually fairly intelligent and may be able to get rolling (no pun...) if someone wouldn't mind transposing the first paragraph, or so... But then again...

From: Where even Richard Nixon has got soul

Bikes: Michelle Pfieffer, the Carbon Fiber Wonder Bike: A Kestrel 200 SCI Repainted in glorious mango; Old Paintless, A Litespeed Obed; The Bike With No Name: A Bianchi Eros; RegularBike: A Parkpre Comp Ltd rebuilt as a singlespeed.

VDO's cyclecomputer website has PDF format manuals online. I don't know if they have the manual for your particular model, but you can check them out HERE

Hey! Thanks. They didn't have a current manual for the age-old (3 yr) model I'm still using, BUT, the C5 model has all of the same functions. Knowing how loath companies are to re-invent anything (co$t), I figured it would operate under pretty much the same logic. Between that and my decade-plus of experience of dealing with European (especially Cherr-MAN) pictographs, I was able to figure out what to do.

In case anybody is wondering...

- cycle through 'til yuo get to the "odo" reading.
- hold down the red (small) button until you get the 4-digit number with the "ones" digit flashing.
- enter your previously determined rolling diameter in Milimeters (see elsewhere for how to determine this) by pushing the yellow (big) button to advance each number column up, and the red button to advance to the next column.
- after you've entered the number and pushed the red button one last time you will be brough to the "odo" readout where you may, if applicable, re enter any previous odometer reading up to 99999.

Using what's left of my intellect I was also able to determine how to:
-reset the who darned thing.
-change the readout from mph to kph.
-clean my ears using a high-pressure water jet.

Hit me up at netzero and I can share that info with you.

Did you ever get a hold of this info? My VDO Sprintplus just fell off of my bike and broke. I want to get a replacement but am finding it difficult since it looks like its been discontinued. Do you still need the instruction sheet? I might still have it. Ken
