SRAM Zero Loss question

So, SRAM just replaced my broken 2008 right shifter with two new 2013 shifters under warranty (big props to SRAM for this!).

My question: Do I need new front and rear derailleurs to get Zero Loss, or is that all in the shifters? The bike still has the original 2008 Force derailleurs.

Thanks.

Zero loss just means no dead travel from the shift lever.

Right, I have nothing better to do than make up stories about old derailleurs and new shifters. Thanks for the helpful response.

+1 - it's all in the shift lever.

I think new force has it in both shifters too, which is a nice bonus over your old force.

Yes. All in the shifters, nothing to do with the FD or RD. Without, you get about 12+mm of free travel before the shift lever engages. With it's 4-6mm of free travel. Though nice, in my experience this makes little practical difference.
