Do these shifter cables look right??
 

This is a severe angle for a shifter cable isn't it?? This is "factory". It works ok. My friend bought it new and rode it for a few years. Now she wants me to "go thru it" to be sure she can resume riding again. I think I'm gonna let it go; but is this typical??

Should be straight they are bend

Those cable housings need to be shortened up a bit to allow the cable to be better aligned.

The housings are badly bent and will likely affect shifting. After the cables are released from derailleurs cut off the portion that was clamped and remove them from the housing. The housing needs to be cut down with the proper tool so that the length and routing will be such that they will not be forcibly bent again if the fork is turned all the way to one side or the other. The housing back by the derailleurs should also be a gentle curve, not too loopy.

The housing ends should be ground smooth/even and the housing liner opened up. Then the housing caps need to be transferred from the portion you cut off. Reinstall the housing and cables (with a light oil applied to the portion of cable that will be covered by housing if not stainless cables). After attaching cables make sure the housing is seated well by shifting to the extreme front and rear several times. Finally the cables and derailleurs should be adjusted.

The cable/housing loops seem much too long. Reroute the cables with shorter but smooth loops and the bend should not reoccur.

There's plenty of housing length to work with. loosen both pinch bolts, and trim the inner wires just below the pinched area. Unthread, then trim off the bend on the housings, then trim to a length that has them feeding straight in to the stops. You'll be cutting off enough that the cut inners will now be long enough to reuse, so you can finish the job correctly.

The bend looks too severe. Even if they work, the wear inside the housing at the bend must be excessive.

PMSL, a factory that makes fail. So very wrong...

That's hard to believe, actually.

Front derailuer looks too high as well.

Possibly the front reflector kinked the cable housing when the fork was turned hard.
