Bikes: 2007 Trek SU100, 2009 Fantom CX, 2012 Fantom Cross Uno, Bakfiets

I see a suspicious spot (nick kind of a thing) on my 5700+mi. old Mavic T224 front rim. It is near, but not directly underneath the arrow that indicates where the wear indicator is. Could be damage to the braking surface, could be the wear indicator. Does anyone have a pic of (or can anyone tell me) what the wear indicator looks like when it's been reached? The rear has no such spots, and this is the first bike I've had that is so equipped.

Thanks!

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

What's the rim look like on the inside? I think that Mavic's wear indicator looks like somebody took a spoon and dug a little vertical groove on the inside of the rim. When the brakeing surface wears away it leaves a little hole in that area.
