Hydraulic disc brake - change lever only
Hi there,
my bike (Giant Terrago) has a hydraulic disk brake system (mph-3). Recently, my rear brake stopped working due to the damaged brake lever (handle). Now, my question is, can I change the lever for another lever of a different Brand (e.g. Shimano or Avid)? Is the diameter of the tube standardized and could just be fit on any brake lever? Or do I have to change the entire brake system (lever, tube, calipers, discs).
Thanks a lot!

While there is some interchangeability between fittings most are specific by brand and sometimes by model. Best to be place with original parts or replace complete set

Giant corp buys those brakes from other companies , find out the brake manufacturer , they are not Giant company Made.

Thanks for the answers, guys. I guess I'll just replace the whole set. Would you propose a particular model that would be a good replacement for this one?

Where are you located and how much are would you like to spend, someone might be able to point you to a bargain.
Do you only want to replace the rear brake or do you want to replace the front one too?
If your brake looks like this then you'll need to get an adapter too as all brakes made these days are 'Post Mount', the brake in that photo is a IS (International Standard) Mount.
