Integrated headset issue

I'm looking to buy a bike and was reading randomly on bike components and all the jargon. I just read something about headset on wikipedia and Chris King's statement about how integrated headset will eventually damage the frame (aluminum ones). There is a detailed documents I don't quite understand yet here

I went to look at a few bikes like Diamondback podium, Canondale CAAD8 5 105 (which I think is a fancy brand) and both have integrated headset. The Chris King's statement was from 2002 so I'm wondering if the technology has improved since then to solve the issue Chris King mentioned (assuming he is correct, which I don't know either). Or it will take many miles to have the issue so it essentially isn't an issue for most people.

Just want to hear about some expert advice on this issue.

PS: Between Integrated "Cane Creek" Size Drop-in ACB 1 1/8" and a FSA NO.42BB/CUP-CX for 1.5 Taper headset, which one is better? I couldn't find out information to understand which one is better.. I found these two from Diamondback podium 1 vs podium 3 on amazon

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Check out the date on the Chris King statement. That's how long people have been discussing this issue. If there had been a plethora of failures during that much time, the design would have died.

That document from CK is over 10 years old, time have moved on, and ZS headsets are now industry standard, IS mainly seen mainly on carbon frames and are EC still around, but not as common any more.

As long as the headset is correctly setup, you shouldn't see any issue, if you do, that's where warranty come in, so would consider that when purchasing.

For a CK headset being better than a Cane Creek or FSA, possibly but for the cost of a CK vs FSA it may be cheaper to buy several FSA over a few years rather than a single CK. For the bikes you are looking at, the FSA is sufficient, and replacing with a CK would seem to be an overkill for the bikes in question,

Yeah, that's what I thought as well, since it's from 2002.

This is comparing CK vs FSA. How about Integrated "Cane Creek" Size Drop-in ACB 1 1/8 vs FSA NO.42BB/CUP-CX for 1.5 Taper headset

FSA, Cane Creek both of equal quality at relative price points (Cane Creek have 3 levels of quality, in order 10 series, 40 series, and 110), take you pick to which you prefer (as long as it's the correct spec).
