Which chain for Chorus 10 speed?

Since I went with Chorus 10 on my road bike 8 years ago I've always bought Campy chains. But a recent experience tells me that maybe I'd be better off with something else.

What chains, besides the Shimano 9 speed, work well with 10 speed Campy? Preferably ones with removable links. I was reading somewhere, maybe on the package itself, that SRAM recommends replacing the removable link each time you remove it, which seems a bit ridiculous. That defeats the purpose.

I ride KMC chains on my Campy Centaur.

Wippermann chains, with the Connex link work great on my 10-speed Veloce and Daytona groups. There are several different versions, but the 10-speed chains start with "10s". The 10s0 chain and link will run you about $40. You can spend more if you want.

When my Campy-equipped Bianchi was new, it came with a KMC DX10SC chain. KMC has since replaced that chain with the X10.93, which works just as well, if not better. KMC supplies a "Missing Link" with the chain. It's easy to use, works well, and can be reused 'til it wears out.

10 speed .. if you had a 9 speed cassette, then you use a 9 speed chain ..

Campy UN 5.9.

Too expensive and too finicky. KMC and Wippermann chains work great, are less expensive and a lot simpler to deal with.

But I use a 9 speed chain on my other 10 speed bike and it works great, but it doesn't have indexing.

Everything Campy is too expensive. I put off changing the cassette because of that. Even the lower end stuff is expensive.

I'll try KMC or Wipperman (not cheap either btw.)

Huh. I didn't think the $40-something I paid for a Veloce 10-speed cassette was unreasonable.

Maybe that specific item seemed reasonable to you, but what does a Tiagra cassette cost? And when I said lower end I was thinking Centaur, which is at least twice that. Forget about Chorus, if you could even find a 10sp Chorus cassette anywhere. It's the same for just about everything Campy. Maybe the low end seems reasonable, but compared to Shimano it isn't. That said, all of my road bikes are Campy.
