Top-mount CX linear pull levers

Looking for advice on components here. I got this bike with bullhorns, barcons stuck in the holes, and cyclocross interuptor levers clamped around the ends. They basically act like clamp-on aero brake levers.

I use this bike for city riding, and I like to go fast, and stop on a dime. I want to upgrade to vbrakes from dia-compe 986 cantis, but I've heard bad things about travel agents. I know that there are v-pulling cyclocross levers to be had (paul), but I need ones with a barrel adjustor at the end--as this will be my sole lever. Paul don't got this, and paul aint cheap. I'm currently using pyramids, about which I have no real complaints.

Also: they have to be 31.8 mm clamping, as I need to use filed-down shims to allow the shifter cable to route past the clamp.

Thanks
