9-speed chain

Hi!
I am willing to replace my chain on my specialized allez elite 2007
I would like to go with a SRAM because I prefer the SRAM powerlink instead of the shimano pins

BUT, my front and rear derailleurs are both Shimano (Tiagra for front and 105 for rear)
does it mean that I HAVE to use a shimano chain ?

Sorry If its a stupid question.....
And can I take ANY 9-speed SRAM chain or do I need to buy a specific one ?

Pick any 9 speed chain you want.

+1,

Chains are maybe the most standardized component on a bicycle. All critical dimensions of comparable chains are the same (width varies w/ No. of speeds), so at one level a 9s chain is a 9s chain.

There are differences in the of the outer plate which can have small effects on shift performance (very small effects), but there are no differences in running performance once in any gear, except possibly for wear life based on the quality of the materials.

KMC also uses a quicklink. I prefer KMC/Shimano chains over SRAM, they are less noisy IME

You can use SRAM or KMC quick links on SRAM, KMC or Shimano chains.
