Removing freehub body
So I am at this point of this video instruction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0ph...KGf-6ueK#t=209
I have a 10mm allen key ready to remove the freehub but it doesn't really "fit" inside. However, if I try it on the non-drive side it fits but it is EXTREMELY tight and I don't want to force it and damage the bolt.
Are certain freehub bodies removed from the non-drive side? Or maybe I need a larger allen key?
I am servicing a 1999 Trek 820.

When you mean when you say doesn't really "fit" inside? (Most) Shimano hubs use a 10 mm allen wrench. Other hubs use an 11, 12, or even 14 mm wrenches. Try using another size to remove the freehub.

Some brands of FH bodies do remove with the allen wrench installed from the LH side of the hub. And keeping track as to which way to turn the tool (or the wheel if you clamp the tool in a bench vice) can be tricky. Some FH bodies thread directly into the hub shell. Some have a bolt drawing the body onto the shell. 10 and 11 mm wrenches are the most common sizes.
I note the lack of hub brand in the OP. Andy.

Well I got the freehub body out by turning clockwise on the NON-drive side. Unfortunately it looks like I ordered the wrong replacement. The one on the bike seems to be all pieced together with the bolt. it doesn't seem to have a brand embedded anywhere either.

This is the one I ordered: Amazon.com : Shimano FH-RM30 Freehub Body (8 Speed) : Bike Hubs : Sports & Outdoors
Does this one look like the right replacement?
Amazon.com : Redline Redline 8/9SP Cassette Freehub Body For SB Hubs, 10mm : Bike Hubs : Sports & Outdoors
Thanks for the replies guys.
