Plastic on plastic threadlock?

Hello, anyone have recommendation(s) on plastic on plastic threadlock, a la locktite? The basket on one of my hiking poles keep coming loose while hiking, and I would like to lock the basket in place. I know this is not a backpacking/hiking site, but please pardon my indulgence in asking here.

As always, thanks for all responses.

Regular anaerobic threadlockers will not work on plastic since they depend upon metal ions (and the absence of oxygen) to cure.

Vibra-Tite VC3 Vibra-Tite VC-3 Threadmate - Vibra-Tite is specified for use on plastics. You may need to make a couple of applications in order to build up a thick coating which will work on the typically loose-fitting threads in plastic items.

I have a comparable situation. The mudflap that goes on the back of sks fenders used to come with a plastic rivet and washer attachment. Now it comes with a really cheap plastic screw and plastic nut.

I was thinking of just smearing some Shoe-Goo on the threads as I assemble it. Whattaya think?

that looks like a Plastic pop-rivet.. in the picture ..

I used a Stainless Poprivet for the mud flap replacement , after my Brompton lost it's screwed on one ..

Of course you can melt plastic and then they wont unscrew .. touch the tip of a hot soldering iron on it.

..then again , a stainless bolt and Nylock nut is a reliable combination..

Yeah, well, the picture lies. I don't have a rivet ***(gub), I don't have a soldering iron, I don't have a stainless bolt and Nylock nut, but I DO have Shoe Goo!

not like you cannot go buy them , the marine trade is using piles of stainless steel and Your on a F'ing Island..

How permanent do you want it to be? Just an idea, but maybe something like silicone caulk would be easier to break than Shoe Goo if you ever need to loosen the nut.

Actually I don't have any idea, because I've never used one of these before. For starters, until I figure out just how permanent I want it to be, I'll probably just apply a temporary fix of black tape (gorilla or electrical) over both sides (nut side and screw side) of the attachment point. That should certainly hold it together for awhile.

I used Goop to hold the baskets on my hiking poles. After loosing one on a hike (fortunately on the outbound leg and managed to find it on the return leg), I went ahead and Gooped them on all our family's poles. No problems since.
