Broken Bike Lever

Hi,

I recently got a bike Transeo GT 2.0 and it has couple of problems. One is a broken brake lever and the other is bent front rim.

I am not sure where to get these parts. I contacted GT Bicycles for this and waiting for their response.

Also wondering whether i can change the brake lever my self.

For the bent wheel i am planning to use my bike trainer and spoke wrench to fix it.

Also i need a new saddlepost and seat. I am not sure what the seat post measurements are.

Thanks
mars

You have to actually look at the lever assembly that you have in order to know the make and model.

You have to actually measure the seat tube to know what fits.

if the bent rim and the broken brake lever were caused by the same thing
it is very possible that you will not be able to fix the wheel just by adjusting spokes

also
the seatpost clamp seems to have been overtightened
and bent in the top of the frame
probably to try to compensate for a too small post

is there any possibility this bike might be stolen?

Any Bike shops around?

The company that makes the frames painted with the GT logo buys those parts, they dont make them .

so you probably need some one to look at the bike to tell you what Brakes .. Brand and model, are on there .

then you may have to buy a whole new Brake .. lever and caliper . since its hydraulic

as there may not be a separate spare lever for it.

Thanks a lot for the info guys.

I don't know whether the bike is stolen or not. It was left at the donation dumpster and i picked it up.

I am trying to restore it.

thanks.

Thanks a lot for the link.

I think the front brake system is TEKTRO Draco Hydraulic.

TEKTRO USA

How hard it will be to replace the brake lever ? Is it as simple as taking the grip, shifter and replacing the lever ?

Do i need to bleed the brakes when i replace the lever?

Thanks
