Suspension seat post
Is it possible to de-activate a suspension seat post? I have a Specialized Crossroads and am not liking this feature. If not, what would be considered a good replacement?

I suspect the cheapest solution would be to buy a Kalloy seatpost from Niagara Cycle. Check the size that's engraved on the bottom of the seatpost that you have now.

If you want a bit of a nice road feel but not the bounce of that seatpost, Specialized makes CGR seatpost. I bought one for my wife and she was so happy with hers she bought me one. It works wonders on chipseal and that kind of road surface. They aren't cheap, around $200 each. If you want to just get rid of the suspension entirely you can buy a basic replacement seatpost for next to nothing.
