Like the difference between a Chinese made wrench, or a Craftsman wrench, or a Snap- On wrench.
Functionally the same, differing levels of fit, finish and quality.
Tanaka vs. Hirame vs. Hiro
Still use my Silca and SKS brass pump heads more than my Tanaka and Hirame.

The Hirame is made in Japan, the quality is definitely there, and if there is better functionality or reliability anywhere I can't imaging it. I still maintain that it's comparable to the Hiro and 60% of the cost. But, then, what would you expect to accompany a $400 floor pump?
