How does this quick release type work??

Hey iv got a gt Zaskar 100 29r elite bike and I haven't seen a quick release type like this one before... its got the pull out bit but no nut on the opposite side theres just a hole going into the hub?? how do I remove this quick release??

I cant take the wheel off lol iv tried googling this type of quick release but nothing???

and gt support sucks!!!!! 3 days and still no answer.

You have a Thru Axle. Once the lever is opened the axle can be unthreaded and removed from the fork. Please note that on this system the axle is considered to be part of the fork, not part of the wheel.

Iv opened the pull out lever and started to thread it out but nothing threads it just spins and spins. I can't tell if I need a hex key or something inside the hole on the other side as it's too deep to see.
