Crank threading question

Does the left hand crank have a left hand thread like the pedal?

All of the cranks I have installed were square taper and had right hand threads on both bolts/nuts.

He might be referring to the bb threads.
If so then Yes, the side without the lockring is L-H threaded.

I am referring to the hex bolt that attaches the crank to the BB.

In that case, no, the crank bolts are right-hand thread (at least they were in every BB/crank setup I've ever worked on).
