Master link for 8-speed chain?

Hi,

I have a single speed, 9-speed and 10-speed bikes and they all have master links. Do they make a master link for an 8-speed chain? If so, any suggestions?

Ride Safe,

Joe

I like the KMC [master link] chains on my 24/8 speed, triple. They shift well with my entry level Shimano derailleurs, run smooth and silent, and don't cost a lot ether. What more could I want.

SRAM makes a good 8S link too that comes with some of their chains. Not sure if you can buy it separately. Lately I've been buying KMC X8.93 chain that comes with the master link simply because I can get it cheaper than SRAM chain. It works just fine.

Master links for single speed chains have been made a lot longer than any that have been made for 8 or 9 or etc derailleur chain.
5,6,7,8= 3/32nd wide chains..

The 1 speed, 3 pieces; one link plate with 2 pins , a side plate with 2 holes, and a spring clip to secure the whole kit.

Just stop by your LBS and buy the kind you need. Cheaper than paying for S&H on the internet.

Any decent 8-speed chain should come with a master link of some kind. Check the packaging before buying.
