what rims do you recomend? i want to do trix and do dirt jumps. how do you lube the break cables? (remember i am a noob so dont flame me)

cant find any odyssey cranks on ebay. i might go for the rims first.

No i was just saying that if your gonna go with redline cranks go with the flights, yes i have un-sealed fit cranks at the moment but once those go, i'm probably gonna eitehr get some primo power bites, or dk chop stix.

One of the best deals, in my opinion, is the Alex Triple Wall chrome wheel set on www.danscomp.com for $140.00 This is very INEXPENSIVE for a wheelset of this quality.

I would really say you should just upgrade your RIMS first, and there are a ton of rims available with most running right around 50 bucks each (front and rear = 100 bucks)

The tough part is you then have to build the wheel, or pay a shop to do it. Building a wheel for the first time is scary and takes a long time. No less than about 8 hours the FIRST time you do it, plus you will probably need new spokes, which is why buying a decent complete wheelset is a good way to go.

Good bike parts are expensive, don't buy garbage just so you can 'upgrade'. Usually, cheap upgrades are much worse than just living with what you have until you can afford something decent.

Any other opinions on inexpensive but decent wheel sets?

i bought the same wheel set , it was nice.... but made my bike heavy as ****.

btw what is 48h? is it number of spokes?

48h means 48 holes on the rim which yeah would mean 48spokes, 36h means 36 holes, 36 spokes

those rims are pretty weak. i have them and i have to true them every few days. i also have a 2004 ody cassette laced to it. it's alright, but the axle and bearings get fu(ked up .

i don't really like light bikes, but tripple walls are way to heavy. they aren't even strong.

the rims i have now arent going to last because i can bunnyhop higher(i had to stop because i missed the peddle and hit me on the shin so hard i could barly walk, for an hour. its still bleading :mad: ), now that i found out the right way to do it. the rims allways hit the ground!!!!

You should be running NO LESS THAN 60 PSI in your tires! Get some decent tires if your current ones don't support higher pressure. The higher pressure will completely change the feel of your bike - it will feel much more solid.

I typically run 80-100PSI in my tires.

No rim is designed to survive being landed on repeatedly, it is the tube and tire that protects it and buffers it. The rims job is to stay straight and keep the bike rolling. It supports the tube and tire, the tube and tire protect it.

okay well the tire says to run 40 max psi!!! so should i pump it up to 60 psi? or should i get better tires and inertube? if so what kind? all the ones at like wallmart says 35psi max.

You should stop buying bike parts at Walmart, that's what you should do.

Get some new tires online. Lots of excellent choices available. I ride flat and use Primo Walls, but they are also popular for street/park riding. Plenty of room to go way above the listed pressure level with them as well.

If you are hitting your rim, go at least 10 pounds over the current tire rating and see if it holds/helps.

Cheap Wal-Mart tubes are fine, I have used them for years and they are about the same as most shop tubes. No biggie there. You don't need new tubes for high pressure (HP), but you do need some decent tires.

I recomend getting some Primo Walls. Can't go wrong with em.
