Where do you ride?

I purchased my first "real" BMX bike on Saturday, Haro F3. If you don't think it's real or don't like it, take your comments elsewhere, I'm a noob and it will do just fine.

I got a street/freestyle bike because there aren't any dirt tracks in my area. I quickly found that riding around my neighborhood isn't too exciting.

Where do you freestyle guys enjoy riding? My best idea at the moment is my local university.

That's where I ride, cause that's where I go to school, but there's some nice stuff in the city surrounding too, just gotta kinda look around and get creative. If you can find people to ride with in your area they might be able to show you some good places too.

Most of the time I ride a sub-box that was acidentally created when the pavers who made a parking lot neer me for some reason pushed excess asphalt over and made a ramp along the entire base of a 15 foot long legde. It's pretty low but you can do some really fun combos on it. Thats what we ride when we just feel like messing around, which is most of the time. I also ride street in Philadelphia, though I havent for way too long. Go to F.D.R. sometimes, but I also havent been there in a while. Nice park though.

so do you guys grind and stuff?

They only put on rear pegs when I got my bike but I thought that was lame so I took them off. I'm probably going to go back and ask why it didn't come with four of em.

Is there anything I can do with just rear pegs?

heh, you can peg someone [/sarcasm]

well, can you fit front pegs on?? on my bike (GT VFR), it was REALLY hard to get my front pegs on... my fork was hitting the peg when the peg was lined up with the axel of my front wheel... I did get em on, but when I took em off, they got stripped... so I gotta re-tap them to re-fit them...

I ride around my neighborhood, not much to do... but theres a nice townhome/apartment community (Windsor Villiage), with TONS of stairs and rails..

too bad i can barely pop a wheelie

by me there is this circle with stairs around it an ramps(the typed that wheel charis go on) that kind of form an X and were there are stairs there are hand rails. so i usually go there to bike. and there is a fountain in the middle with benches. that is about it

i am also hard up for street areas so i moved onto dirt for now.

and for tricks on back pegs there is always a good old manual on your pegs, you can even pull a barspin standing on you pegs. try standing on you back pegs no hands and going down a hill.

Glad to see some more replies.

Now that I'm in BMX mode I was checking out my university for stuff to ride on. We have quite a lot. Now I just have to get my bike stuffed into my tiny car (CRX) so I can get my ride on over there.

Take one of the back ones off and put it on the front...

And, yes, you can feeble grind, Luc-E grind (back peg and front pedal, with front axle below ledge/rail/coping height), icepick grind, that Beringer backpe nosemanual thing...
