Im looking for a frame of one of these bikes. Either the first or last bike would be the better frame. Shocks and Handlebars would be nice as well. I have a friend that is an awesome metal worker, weilder and would like to reproduce a bike like these with new components. I dont care how bad it is as long as the frame is not broke or bent. I need to be able to get the specs off it.

I'm only willing to pay a $100 for a frame depending on what shape its in. Thanks for your time.

Peace \/..

eBay or VintageBMX.com would probably be your best bet. There's not a chance in hell that you'll get the frame for $100, though.

They were a type of BMX back in the 70's, the tank was just for looks.

These bike were very popular in the mid 70's to early 80's. I think that the design for these bikes started from Yamaha. They where going for the look of a motorcross bike. Some were called Moto Cross. Havent did alot of research on them but i think that they used to race them in the mid to late 70's. I used to have one in 1982 like the last pic i posted. It was made by CCM. Very heavy bike but tough as nails. I did a twelve foot drop off my old school with mine. Had to get new rims after that The thing you do when you're young and dumb.
If i cant get the specs for one i'll have to wing it i guess. Im gonna do the bulletin board thing in town here and see if i get any bites. Some ppl dont know what they have and will sell it for nothing. Maybe i'll get lucky. Oh, the gas tank is plastic and just for show. I think it makes the bike myself.
And wethepeople you're a lucky guy. Treasure the bike dude its a classic.

Peace \/..

I had a similar one in the 70's. I've also edited your post, as you aren't allowed to advertise items for sale unless you're a paying member. PM me if you have any questions.

It's made by Yamaha, it has SOLID steel tubes, even the bars are solid.

Solid or tubes, you can't have both. I'm guessing thick wall, non-butted tubing.

Solid, it's been smashed with a hammer, no mark except in the paint.

You need to sell me this bike. You are smashing it with hammers. Actually i think you should give it to me. This bike you have is worthless.... garbage really. You should let me take it off your hands... Just kidding. Dont hit it with a hammer though dude. Nice bike. One of the first i think. I dont think the farme is solid metal but it is a heavy gauged tubing. I never saw a yamaha in person so thats a guess. Seriously though... i you ever want to sell it... Let me know. I'd be glad to take it off your hands for the right price.

If it was solid, it would be too weak for even a bicycle. Think about it- it's easier to break a pencil than it is to bend a Bic pen. Most likely it's just very thick tubing.

A solid rod will be stronger than a tube of equal diameter.

Here we go again. Stronger in what way? Because a solid rod is much easier to bend than a tube.

Then why don't they make crowbars out of pipe?

You're making up physics again.
