I have the same problem on my bike. I thought it was the bottom bracket because it felt like and sounded like it was comin from that area, but i just got a new crank and bottom bracket and it still does it, so im assuming its the freewheel.

Is it a clicking, or ticking? Because I have some old watches that you wind up, and they make a ticking noise.
