24" cruiser durability
hey guys...i was just wondering how durable a 24" cruiser bmx would be for play riding and some dirt jumping? (not like drop abuse, more like ramp to ramp "smooth" jumping) i am just not familiar with what kind of abuse they see on a track. i would think they see some pretty big obstacles on bmx tracks.
i weigh about 135lbs and of course i would buy quality parts. i could avoid a carbon fork if that appears to be a major problem.
also, i am well aware of the plethora of offerings out there for 24" DJ/street/whatever frames. so please don't tell me about those.
i am leaning more towards a race 24" bmx....but not because i want to race. i just want a light, fast play bmx bike. however, if you all tell me that they cannot with stand any harsh riding, than i might think twice.
thanks again!

I think it would hold up just fine to abuse you could throw at it.
Ive seen quite a bit of people around here that ride 24" bmx's on the local trails and alot of older guys would ride their 24"bmx racers at our local Vans(too bad its closed now...)

yeah i didn't mean to be away for so long. i have had major delays in my 20" bmx/street build. i have every single part to do the bike except the frame. don't ask. it is finally officially ordered though! it will still be a little while before i get it and now school will start again so could be more delays. i am pretty sure most of you guys will like the bike when it is done...i will certainly post pics at that time.
i am always in the mtb forum, but i should come back here too...it's always been fun here
i will check those bikes ...but thanks for correcting yourself in the second post
i am into building my own stuff. if they come in just frames i will certainly consider them.i was actually leaning towards a Standard byke 24" frame. i don't know how they're perceived among those of you truly in the scene, but i like them. they seem like a quality company and their frames are made at very, very nice place. (although the bmx builds probably give new frame builders a chance to learn welding skills....hahahaha)
i have a feeling i can get away with quite a bit because i don't weigh much.
do you think carbon forks are too delicate or short lived? any experience with them? they're definitely light, but i don't know if it is worth it.
