tire tumors

I'm having a bit of trouble with my tire/tube. I popped the tube today, and patched it up, but when I put everything back together and tried to inflate it, I kept getting 'tire tumors'. What could be the cause of this?

Did you try deflating it and making sure the tire is inside the rim all the way around and airing it back up?

Yes, briefly.. I have to check again tomorrow.. it's either a silly mistake, or the rim is bent a bit.

Try taking the tube completely out, inflating it quite a bit , looking for the 'tumor' and if you dont see it, deflating it, and put it back on.

Start from scratch.

I cant explain.

Is the tire damaged? If there are cuts or breaks in the fiber of the side wall, you can get buldges where the tube is pressing through (at least these buldges might be what you mean by tumors). Otherwise, I would guess you are not seating the tube in the tire properly.

Let us know what you find. I was riding a drainage ditch near my house last night and had a blow out so I will need to order a new tube and possibly a tire as well. The tire didn't go flat, it exploded! I looked around and found a bent nail so I suspect that is what caused it. I'm going to check it out in the morning and see if the tire needs to be replaced as well.

I fixed it today. It was a messed up tube. I changed the tube and it was all better.

you fill the tire up with a little bit of air and then push it down around the whole tire so the bead can't stick out anywhere.
