Wanting to get into it.
Hey there everyone, I am currently a regular commuter and Mtn biker and was looking to enhance my portfolio as a BMX rider. I was wantign to know if there is any kind of age limit restriction or anything like that. I looked on the ABA website and couldnt find anything that was documented as far as age limits are concerned. So I guess that brings me to my next question. I am 6'3" tall and a BMX bike is quite a bit smaller than what I remember from when I had one when I was er...say...10... So I was wondering about recommendations for frames for taller riders. Any recommendations??? Do they come in differnet sizes like Mtn bikes do? Is there a such thing as too big of a bike?

No-one is too tall for a bmx, i would suggest that you should look into getting a 21" top tube or above frame. There is also no age limit just as with mtb, so you have no excuses now.

there are no age limitations as far as I know. and yes there are plenty of larger frames for larger riders.
tons of 21" frames, and Macniel makes a 22"tt but even some 6'5" riders say its TOO big...
it depends if you just want to race, or just have fun riding ramp parks, street, and trails though...
race frames are almost too light to ride park and trails unless your super smooth.
www.bikeguide.org/forums is a great resource for BMX specific stuff. and a lot of the people there know their **** inside and out. a lot of the biggest names in the buisiness frequent the forums.

This thread has given me hope! I think for my 30th B-day I am going to pick up a new whip. Although I really have no interest in racing but rather doing a little street riding. Funny thing is, I thought I was too old and too tall (6'2") for BMX until I read this thread.
