Yeah, I have a mountain bike in my shed, although it is a piece of crap Wal-Mart bike that is all rusted up. I don't want to ride the thing, and I do have to wait around until I know that my leg will hold up to some abuse because I don't want to do this all over again, but I don't want to ride anything other than a BMX bike. My mom is going to have to deal with it eventually, but thanks for the craigslist research. I don't have any money to spend (until umpiring starts up), and my mom certainly won't let me spend anything that I do have on any form of bike anyway. My mom doesn't like me doing anything other than what she likes (which is very unfair, because the only thing she likes is baseball), and she has held me out of football, basketball, wrestling, and track, just because she doesn't like them.

That's not very broadminded. I can understand your mom not wanting you in football (I mean, you do/did have a broken leg), but track and wrestling? Basketball? I especially don't understand the bias against track. Perhaps I am influenced by the fact that my father was a marathoner, and at least one of my sisters ran track in HS. [Not me, I am not a fast runner by any means]. Most parents would love to see their kids get out and do something besides play games on the computer.

I need a [shaking my head in disbelief] smiley.

The whole football thing was before I broke my leg, and I had actually trained for it and gotten into very good shape, after she had said that I could play, and after my father said I could as well. Now, she is totally against it and wouldn't let me play because she "hates" football. Yeah, she is just really strict and very selfish at times. She doesn't want me to do so much after school because she doesn't want to have to go to school to pick me up every so often. I would have done very well in pretty much all of those sports because I am very athletic, and pound for pound, I am one of the strongest kids you will meet and am just an all-around athlete. I am pretty fast, but it's not like I train for more speed (yet), so it's not like I was going to be winning gold medals, but I was pretty good for not training for any track events. I have a 5:00 mile with no training and running in bmx shoes, which I thought to be pretty good. My mom is so used to me being outside all day that she would rather me be inside for a while, although she will still yell at me for being on the computer or for watching tv the few times that I am actually indoors.

There should be one of them. Who is good with all of the website stuff?

Damn, and I thought Momma Dukes was strict. I used to get in trouble for stupid crap too, but your mom is straight up domineering!

My name's Brad, by the way. I thought I'd drop in on the forum since I'm thinking about getting into bmx.

Yep, my mom goes out of her way to make my life miserable because she has nothing else to do since she doesn't have a job or friends.

Also, your avatar is quite sick. 300 was amazing.

Well, I'm going to college in another two years... hopefully she won't kill me before then.

Just make sure you apply to a school REALLY far away, man.

Uh, a little further off-topic: I sent you a PM about that treasure trooper thing.

Yeah, I'm planning on it. Possibly Florida or Texas at the moment.

Don't worry about being so much on-topic, it's just how we roll here.

EDIT: It's pretty much Foo with a little bit of BMX mixed in.
